Application of the Zhongcheng Air Drum Separator in Municipal Solid Waste (MSW)
The Zhongcheng air drum separator is a highly efficient solution for the separation and processing of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW). Utilizing industry-leading negative pressure technology, this separator is capable of sorting a wide range of materials by density, ensuring effective waste management and recycling and contribute to environmental sustainability. Its versatility, operational efficiency, and energy-saving features make it a valuable tool in modern waste processing, ensuring that more recyclable materials are recovered and less waste ends up in landfills.
The Zhongcheng air drum separator operates through a combination of airflow and mechanical action, effectively separating materials of different densities. The process involves several key steps:
Feed Material:
Mixed MSW is fed into the separator. This can include a variety of waste types, such as organic matter, plastics, metals, paper, and glass.
Acceleration Belt:
The input material is spread into a single layer by the acceleration belt. This even distribution is crucial for the subsequent separation process. The belt accelerates the material to an appropriate speed and transports it to the ejection edge.
Airflow:
An adjustable air jet underneath the feeding belt generates an upward current. As the materials fall from the ejection edge, they enter this airstream. Lighter materials are lifted by the air, while heavier materials continue to fall.
Drum Action:
The rotating drum assists in further separating the materials. The light materials are carried upwards by the air through the drum, while the heavy materials fall to the bottom.
Expansion Chamber:
The light materials, now in the airstream, are transported into the expansion chamber. Here, the air speed is significantly reduced, allowing the light materials to settle into a container or onto a discharge belt.
Collection:
Separated materials are collected in designated areas. Light materials are directed into containers or onto discharge belts via the expansion chamber, while heavy materials fall from the rotating drum into separate containers or onto discharge belts.
