The air separator is a device that uses the power of airflow to sort materials.
1. Working principle
1.Based on the difference in material properties
It is mainly based on the difference in physical properties of material particles such as density, particle size, and shape for sorting. Under the action of airflow, lighter material particles are carried by the airflow, while heavier material particles settle due to gravity. For example, in grain processing, there are density and weight differences between lighter impurities such as shriveled grains and dust and full grains. The air separator can adjust the appropriate airflow speed to blow away the shriveled grains and dust, leaving heavier high-quality grains.
2.Airflow action mode
There is a fan inside the air separator to generate airflow. After the material enters the air separator, it will be pushed or suspended by the airflow in the airflow channel. Generally speaking, the airflow speed is a key factor. If the airflow speed is too high, some heavier qualified materials may be taken away; if the airflow speed is too low, the lighter impurities cannot be effectively separated.
2. Structural composition
4.1.Feeding device
It is used to evenly feed the materials to be sorted into the air separator. It can control the speed and amount of feed to ensure that the material can be effectively sorted after entering the air separator. For example, some feed devices are equipped with regulating valves to adjust the feed flow according to actual conditions.
2.Sorting chamber
This is the core part of the air separator. The material is sorted here under the action of airflow. The shape and internal structure design of the sorting chamber will affect the distribution of airflow and the movement trajectory of the material. Some sorting chambers are equipped with guide plates to guide airflow and materials so that they can be separated in a predetermined manner.
3.Fan
The fan is a component that generates airflow. Its power determines the strength of the airflow. Different material sorting needs require airflows of different strengths, so the selection and adjustment of the fan is very important. For example, when sorting lighter plastic fragments and heavier metal particles, a stronger airflow is required to separate the plastic fragments, and a fan with a larger power is required.
4.Discharging device
Includes a light material discharge port and a heavy material discharge port. The light material carried by the airflow is collected through the light material discharge port, while the settled heavy material is discharged through the heavy material discharge port. The design of these discharge ports should consider preventing the mixing of materials and ensure that the sorted materials can be collected separately.
3. Application fields
1.Agricultural field
Used for cleaning and grading grains. It can remove impurities such as weed seeds, shriveled grains, dust, etc. in grains to improve the quality of grains. At the same time, it can also grade grains of different fullness, which is conducive to subsequent processing and storage.
2.Mining field
Pre-select ore and preliminarily separate waste rock and useful ore in ore. For example, in some coal mines, wind separators can separate coal gangue, improve the purity of coal, and reduce the workload of subsequent washing and other processes.
3.Recycling industry
Play a role in the recycling of waste plastics, metals, etc. For example, when processing waste circuit boards, wind separators can separate the plastic and metal components in them, which is convenient for further recycling.
