1). Definition

1. RDF (Refuse-Derived Fuel) rod making machine is a device that processes recyclable solid waste (such as plastic, paper, wood, etc.) into solid fuel rods. It compresses loose garbage raw materials into a high density and a certain shape through a series of mechanical processing processes, making it easy to store, transport and burn.

2). Working principle

1. First, the raw materials that have been pre-treated (such as crushing, screening, etc.) are transported to the feed port of the rod making machine. Inside the rod making machine, there is a screw propeller or plunger device. When the raw materials enter the machine, the propeller will exert pressure on the raw materials, causing them to be compressed in the mold channel of the machine. As the pressure continues to increase, the raw materials are gradually compacted and squeezed out of the mold to form a rod-shaped fuel with a certain diameter and length. This process is similar to squeezing toothpaste, where the toothpaste is squeezed out of the outlet to form a strip after the toothpaste tube is squeezed.

3). Main components

1. Feeding device: used to stably transport the raw materials to the inside of the rod making machine. Its structural design should ensure that the raw materials can be fed evenly and continuously to avoid blockage or uneven feeding. For example, some feeding devices are equipped with agitators to prevent the raw materials from piling up at the feed port.

2. Compression device: This is one of the core components of the rod making machine. For example, the design of the screw shaft is critical for the screw propulsion compression device, and its parameters such as pitch and diameter will affect the compression effect of the raw materials. When the screw shaft rotates, it pushes the raw materials forward and gradually compresses them.

3. Forming mold: determines the shape and size of the fuel rod. Factors such as the aperture size, length, and smoothness of the inner wall of the mold have an important impact on the molding quality of the fuel rod. If the inner wall of the mold is not smooth enough, the fuel rod may have an uneven surface or break during the extrusion process.

4). Application field

1. Energy field: The fuel rods made by the RDF rod making machine can be used as an alternative fuel for industrial boilers, power plants, etc. It can partially replace traditional fossil fuels such as coal and reduce dependence on non-renewable energy. For example, some small biomass power plants use this fuel rod to generate electricity, burning it in a boiler to generate steam and drive a steam turbine to generate electricity.

2. Waste treatment field: It helps to reduce the amount of solid waste and recycle it. For some difficult-to-handle mixed waste, processing it into fuel rods through rod making machines can effectively reduce the amount of landfill.
